The 2020 Ram 1500 has been named Green Car Journal’s Green Truck of the Year award, as announced during the 51st San Antonio Auto & Truck Show held in San Antonio, Texas.

The 2020 Ram 1500 boasts a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine and is capable of towing up to 12,750 pounds. The EcoDiesel leads all trucks in fuel range.

"The Ram 1500 stands out in the pickup field, not only with its exclusive use of eTorque mild-hybrid technology but also with a more powerful EcoDiesel engine that's EPA-rated up to 32 highway miles per gallon," Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com Editor and Publisher Ron Cogan said in a press release. "That kind of fuel efficiency – and attendant carbon-emissions reduction – is particularly impressive in a pickup offering the great functionality, recreational and work capabilities, and overall driving enjoyment. The Ram 1500's distinction as the 2020 Green Truck of the Year is well deserved."

Reid Bigland, head of Ram Brand, mentioned that the automaker is honored to receive the Green Truck of the Year award that acknowledges Ram's commitment to powertrain technology leadership in the truck segment.
