Piston Automotive recently announced its recent acquisition of Tier 1 assembler of brake modules for Honda of America, Marion Industries, augmenting its footprint into Central Ohio.

With the acquisition, Marion Industries adds to the increasing list of Piston Automotive’s North American-based manufacturing locations as well as widens the company's growing list of OEM customers.

"Transforming our business and accepting new challenges is required in order to compete in today's marketplace," said Piston Group's founder, chairman and CEO Vinnie Johnson. "The acquisition of Marion Industries allows us to leverage our process design and product assembly expertise and diversify our customer base, which are two key elements of our growth strategy."

Piston Automotive is a subsidiary of the Piston Group, which is headquartered in Southfield, Michigan with over 20 locations across North America employing almost 10,000 people.

Founded in 1995, Piston Group is comprised of Piston Automotive, Irvin Products, Detroit Thermal Systems and AIREA.
