Every U.S. Lexus vehicle will soon have the Lexus Safety System+ as a standard feature starting with the 2020 model.

This is part of the automaker’s effort to come closer to realizing their vision of an accident-free world.

“We are working toward preventing crashes before they happen,” said David Christ, group vice president and general manager for the Lexus Division. “That's why we have developed some of the most advanced safety features on the road today, and now those systems will be standard equipment on every model we sell.”

The Lexus Safety System+ is an integrated group of four advanced active safety packages which are: pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control and intelligent high beams.

The pre-collision system with pedestrian detection was engineered to automatically increase brake force once a potential collision with a pedestrian or vehicle is has been identified.

The lane departure alert is designed to deliver an audible alert if an inadvertent lane departure is sensed.

The dynamic radar cruise control helps maintain a preset speed and distance.

The intelligent high beams bring better visibility by supplying added lighting. It would temporarily shift to low beams when it detects the headlamps or taillamps of vehicles ahead.
