Leslie Doggett Industries expands presence in El Paso, Texas with acquisition of Truck Enterprises

Leslie Doggett Industries’ presence in the West Texas city of El Paso continues to grow with its latest acquisition.

On July 16, the Houston-based equipment dealer group through its Doggett Truck Group acquired Truck Enterprises Inc, according to an announcement.

An authorized Western Star, Detroit Diesel, and extreme heavy-duty trailer dealer located in El Paso and Carlsbad, New Mexico, Truck Enterprises becomes Doggett’s third location in El Paso.

“Western Star – being part of the Daimler brand – it’s just a great fit to keep under our umbrella and our ownership,” Paul Burk, DTG vice president, told Mega Dealer News.

Burk added that Truck Enterprises is unique in that “they have multiple trailer brands,” stating no other Doggett facility carries them.

“It’s an opportunity for us to get into the [trailer] business,” Burk said.

He said the new El Paso location allows them to sell used trucks.

“It gives us another location to help resell our customers’ trade-ins,” Burk stated.

According to the announcement, Doggett will operate these dealerships under the name Truck Enterprises Inc. and founder Lanny Golucke will continue to head Truck Enterprises, which he began in 1980.

“He’s going to stay on board up to a year to help with the transition,” Burk said. “Lanny has a great reputation in the market. We’re very happy to have him stay on.”

Burk praised El Paso as a “fantastic market.”

“It’s a fast-growing city,” he said. “There’s a ton of freight that crosses the border … we’ve got the freightliner dealer, we’ll have Truck Enterprises, and we’ll have a Toyota Lift store there also, which is a forklift dealer.”

Burk asserted that the customer will be Doggett’s utmost priority when it comes to the company’s newest asset.

“It’s creating a culture focused on providing the best customer service and customer experience in the industry,” he said. “We believe in being partners with our customers [and] having a relationship with our customers. We want our customers to be confident that they’re going to get the best support possible from our group.”
