Genesis has again been named the No. 1 overall brand in the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Genesis was assessed as having just 63 problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) to earn the top spot for the second consecutive year.
A lower IQS score indicates higher vehicle quality. The Genesis brand's 2019 score represents a year-over-year improvement of five points.
“We are extremely thrilled to be recognized for highest quality by J.D. Power for two consecutive years — particularly considering we are a relatively young brand,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, executive vice president and global head of Genesis branding. “This is a testament toward our promise to deliver the most desirable products for our customers. We will continue to hold our products, brand and customer experience to the highest standard in all facets.”
Additionally, Genesis G70 landed as the highest ranked compact premium car.
Genesis Motor America COO, Erwin Raphael accepted the awards from J.D. Power & Associates’ vice president for global automotive sales, Michael Battaglia.
