Subaru of America Inc. has released its January 2019 sales report, marking the best January in its history with a record-breaking 46,072 vehicle sales and 3.9 percent growth compared to the same month last year.

These numbers continue Subaru’s dynamic sales from 2018, as Subaru posted 10 consecutive years of record sales and set a sales record of 680,135 vehicles -- exceeding its goal.

“We are super excited to kick off 2019 on a high note with the best January sales in the history of our franchise,” Subaru of America President and CEO Thomas Doll said. “In today’s extremely competitive automotive market, we know that 86 consecutive months of yearly, month-over-month sales increases would not be possible without the tireless work of our dedicated retailer network and each of our colleague’s commitment to supplying safe, reliable, versatile vehicles.”

Senior Vice President Jeff Walters attributed the excellent sales to the Forester.

“(It) continues to deliver outstanding results since its release in October,” Walters said. “2019 will be another exciting year for our brand. We’re looking forward to continued growth thanks to exciting new additions to our lineup including the all-new, seventh-generation 2020 Legacy.”
