Honda released a statement on Nov. 20 that it will voluntarily recall roughly107,000 Honda Odyssey vehicles from the 2018 and 2019 model years in the United States to replace the left and right power sliding door rear latches at no cost.

Certain mechanical parts in the power sliding doors' rear latch assemblies may stick and can constrain both the front and rear latches from securely latching to the door strikers. Vehicle occupants will be at risked of injury if there is an improperly latched power sliding door, as it can involuntarily open during vehicle operation. Honda has received no reports of injuries related to this condition.

Honda has a limited supply of latch repair kits in inventory and expects to increase supply by late-December. Vehicle owners can temporarily deactivate the power sliding door function until parts become available if a dealer is temporarily unable to obtain a repair kit. Manually operating the sliding doors would still be possible.

Mailed notifications to customers will commence this month, or yoy can determine if your vehicle is included in the recall by visiting www.recalls.honda.com or by calling 888-234-2138.
