In the US, there are not really many choices when it comes to station wagons, most likely due to the SUV’s skyrocketing sales. However, this trend may change with the arrival of new station wagons in the market this year. One of the most-anticipated wagons you should watch out for is the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack 4Motion.

The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack 4Motion is described as the “Adventurous Wagon.” It features higher trim levels, more technological features, and more ground clearance than the SportWagen edition. The 4Motion AWD is standard on all trims, and the six-speed manual transmission is available in S and SE trim levels, as well as the DSG 6-speed auto transmission.

It has a 1.8L engine, fuel economy ranged at 30 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city. It also has a combined rating of 25 mpg for the automatic transmission and 24 mpg for the manual transmission. The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack also has a passenger volume of 94 cubic feet and cargo volume of 30 cubic feet.

It also has an overall rating of five stars as per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with no customer complains as of writing. It contains at least six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Automatic Post-Collision Braking, and other safety features.

As for entertainment, the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack model has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which makes connectivity easier and more convenient. The Alltrack also has a color touchscreen with capacitive touch. Other features on selected trims include a JPEG viewer, USB port, SiriusXM satellite studio free for three months, voice-activated text messaging, an eight-speaker audio system, and Fender Premium Audio System.

Add to the vehicle’s overall sporty and luxurious feel is its leatherette seat coverings, which are available in black beige and brown. It starts at $25,955 MSRP excluding taxes, delivery, title, etc.
