According to Carfax, most vehicles depreciate in value by up to 20 percent annually. Thus, when buying a vehicle -- especially pickups -- it is important to determine its resale value. While some trucks may lose their value over time, others hold their resale value.

For example, 2WD pickups are not desirable in terms of resale value. On the other hand, resale value is typically strongest on mid-level trims, according to Anil Goyal, senior vice president of automotive valuations and analytics at Black Book.

With that said, here is the list of heavy-duty trucks with the best resale value according to KBB.com.
