Ram will produce and sell a new and improved 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram Classic. The latter will continue the body styling of the 2018 Ram 1500 model’s body styling, and both models are planned to be sold simultaneously, with the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic available this fall.
According to FCA, Ram’s parent company, the 2019 Ram Classic will be offered in four trim levels: Tradesman, Express, Big Horn/Lone Star, and a “Special Services Vehicle” trim level. All models will have the new “Classic” badge.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic is said to be “targeted at entry and commercial buyers” and may even have a lower price, FCA’s Ram brand head Mike Manley said.
In addition, the 2019 Ram Classic will receive three new option packages: the Chrome Plus, Tradesman SXT, and Express Black Accent.
The Chrome Plus package features chrome bumpers, body-color upper front fascia, 17-inch steel wheels, and a carpeted interior. The Tradesman SXT package includes chrome bumpers, painted front fascia, a 5-inch touchscreen in the dash, fog lamps, dual exhaust on V8-equipped trucks, and 20-inch chrome wheels. Lastly, the Express Black Accents package includes black wheels, black headlight surrounds and black badging.
Meanwhile, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic will be available with three different bed lengths -- 8-foot, 6-foot-4-inch, and 5-foot-7-inch bed lengths as well as in 4x2 and 4x4 running gear. Engine options will include the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and the optional 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel.
The 2019 Ram Classic will also feature Ram’s five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
