Toyota is finally joining the Apple CarPlay bandwagon -- at least for some models.
Toyota is one of the few manufacturers that does not have Apple CarPlay installed in all of its model, instead using its in-house propriety software -- Entune or Enform. This year, however, those getting Apple CarPlay are the 2019 Toyota Avalon, 2019 Toyota RAV4, and the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.
The 2019 Toyota Avalon, a full-size sedan, features other technology including a WiFi hotspot, Qi wireless charging, Toyota Remote Connect with Smartwatch, and Amazon Alexa Connectivity.
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 is an all-wheel drive compact SUV with features such as Amazon Alexa Connectivity, multi-terrain select for off-road capability, and dynamic torque vectoring with rear driveline disconnect.
The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback also features standard TSS 2.0, a lightweight composite hatch, Entune 3.0 with WiFi Hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Toyota Remote Connect with Smartwatch and Amazon Alexa Connectivity. An adaptive front lighting system and Qi wireless charging are also available.
