Volvo's new 2019 XC40 SUV may be the automaker's smallest, but it combines high-tech features with style, safety and comfort.

"This is not just a smaller version of our larger cars, the new XC40 has it own unique character and tailored innovations for an active, urban lifestyle," Volvo's model brand manager for the XC40 Louiza Atcheba said in the company's promotion video. "You get the same engineering benefits as our larger cars but in a more compact package."

The XC40's Scandinavian design features an upright style and Volvo offers two custom trim levels -- the Momentum and R-Design. Interior features of Volvo's XC40 include a hands-free, power-operated tailgate with smart storage solutions that include a flat floor that can be folded.

The XC40 also features Advanced Driver Assisted technology, which scans the road ahead to detect and prevent potential collisions. Parking is made easy with the 360-degree camera and a panoramic roof allows for plenty of natural light. The XC40 also includes an adjustable interior lighting system.

The XC40's sound technology includes an air-ventilated woofer mounted behind the dashboard for advanced sound.
