The Ford F-150 has a few new features for the 2018 model year, according to Fremont Motors.

The Motor Trend "Truck of the Year" has new engine options, including diesel. The diesel version is already available for order and will show up in dealerships in the next couple months. A 3.3-liter gas engine is also available as an alternative to the 2.7-liter gas engine. All engines have auto start/stop features that shut off when the truck idles at traffic lights, for instance. There's also a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a 5.0-liter V8.

Adaptive Cruise Control is an option, as well as pedestrian detection. Standard safety features have also been updated. Now available are roll stability and curve control, dual-stage drive and right-passenger airbags, side curtain airbags, ABS vented brakes and trailer sway control.

New materials and color options are available for trim and upholstery in models such as the XLT Sport or Special Edition, as well as the King Ranch and Limited. Browns, reds and navy shades are among the new colors. The Limited model even has a Wi-Fi hotspot feature that allows up to 10 mobile devices to connect.

Great key features return on the 2018 models, including a SyncPass app that allows remote truck start, door lock control and fuel level checks all via smartphone.

Heated and vented seats are available on some trim levels. There's also a trailer package and a 360-degree camera that comes in handy to ensure everything tows smoothly.
