Buying a used vehicle has benefits, too

Darcars Automotive Group offers several reasons that buying a used car has benefits that don't apply to new-car purchases.

Since used cars cost less than the same new models, the initial registration costs less, too. So do the insurance payments. Used cars also do not depreciate as quickly as new cars. Cars depreciate the most in the first few years. Over time, depreciation slows down.

Some dealerships still offer warranties and coverage plans, especially if the vehicles are certified as pre-owned. Look for vehicles that have a complete repair and service history available, and that are relatively free from dents, dings or interior damage.

Any dealership selling used cars should also offer test drives. Taking a used vehicle for a spin on the highway and on city or rural roads can give you a good idea of how the vehicle handles during regular driving conditions. Check the vehicle inside and out to ensure you haven't missed any potential issues.
