Kiefer Kia's recent blog post offers tips to ensure a successful road trip, whether traveling along or with a few friends or family members.

A full inspection of the vehicle is important before a road trip to ensure it's in good working order. Take the vehicle in to have a service pro inspect the brakes, tires, fluids and the engine to make sure everything is road-trip worthy. Remember to inspect the wiper blades, too.

Keep emergency supplies in the vehicle, such as jumper cables, extra water and blankets and gloves for cold-weather travels.

Plan your trip in advance, mapping out the route, including potential hotels or places to stay overnight. Remember to plan time for breaks to eat, get refreshed and stretch your legs a bit.

Pack smart and make a potential packing list ahead of time. Besides things such as clothing, remember to bring chargers for electronic devices, a cooler with food, some snacks that aren't too messy to eat in a car, and water to drink along the drive. Bring items to keep kids occupied, such as activity books or tablets.
