The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander has been named an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick, according to Continental Mitsubishi.

The seven-passenger crossover vehicle, when outfitted with the touring package, offers loads of safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warnings, a lane-departure alert system and a feature that helps avert forward collisions. It also has a tire pressure monitoring system to ensure all tires are at optimal pressure.
Vehicles must earn good rankings in a number of areas to be named an IIHS Top Safety Pick. They also must have an advanced or superior rating for crash prevention.
