Basil Ford adds artist's touches to its New York dealerships

Basil Family Dealerships brings a touch of awesomeness to its Ford dealerships in New York with automotive murals by artist Tom O'Brien, a posting on basilcars.com said.

O’Brien showcased iconic Buffalo locations paired with Ford vehicles in his work for the dealership in Cheektowaga, near Buffalo. A video of the process is available at http://www.basilcars.com/blog/basils-creative-showrooms/, showing a Mustang being chased by mustangs against a Buffalo sunset, the posting said.

O'Brien painted two murals at the renovated Basil Ford of Niagara Falls location. The main mural features a Mustang within Niagara Falls, inspired by the beauty of the water, and the other shows an original Ford F-150 next to a modern one.

O’Brien said he oped to convey a sense of community at the dealerships, as he felt welcomed when he first visited the dealerships, the posting said.

The mural at the Cheektowaga location is more than 96 feet long and nearly 13 feet tall. O'Brien created a photo montage and projected it onto the walls to help plot out the layout, the posting said. Airbrushing at the Niagara Falls location helped create the illusion of mist from the water.
