Ford plans to release a pickup truck rated for law enforcement use, a recent post on the Fremont Motors website said.
The 2018 Ford F-150 Responder will be pre-fitted with gear designed for law enforcement use. Some of the features include a police-calibrated speedometer, a 240-amp alternator designed to power extra electronics, an engine idle meter, FX4 off-road suspension, underbody skid plates, heavy duty seats and four-wheel drive.
“Ford’s 2018 F-150 Police Responder is the perfect all-terrain law enforcement vehicle,” Stephen Tyler, Ford’s police brand marketing manager, said in the posting.
The vehicle could come in handy for police, game wardens and sheriffs.
The posting did not indicate whether the Responder will be available for consumer purchase or when the vehicle will be released.
