West Herr New York's technology pro, Andy Parks, discusses new vehicle technology on a recent post on the West Herr website.

A new suite of General Motors apps allows key-fob technology for 2011 and newer OnStar-connected vehicles. The Apple Watch can connect to MyGM apps, allowing you to remotely start, lock or unlock the vehicle from the watch.

Google has also allowed the crowd-sourced Waze program as a navigation option available via Android Auto. Waze has a dedicated user base that offers real-time traffic updates as posted by other Waze users. The Android Auto version of Waze is less cluttered and a little different than the smartphone version of the app. Engadget recently posted a writeup after testing Waze in a vehicle, explaining the app's features, at https://www.engadget.com/2017/07/26/waze-android-auto-hands-on/.
