Buick puts new spin on station wagon with the Regal TourX

Buick continues to keep the brand innovative and exciting by releasing the 2018 Buick Regal TourX.

The Regal TourX is a station wagon, which functions similar to an SUV, and is currently one of the only vehicles of its kind, according to to a posting on the Fremont Motor Company website. While there are other wagons in the street, the TourX has up to 73.5 cubic feet behind the front seats, which smashes what its competitors may have to offer in terms of cargo space, the posting said.

This new edition to the Buick Regal line is expected to come with a slew of cool features. It has a 2-liter turbocharged engine that produces 25 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque. The car comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an active twin clutch that Buick says will make operating the TourX lots of fun.

“Buick’s innovative new system uses two clutches at the rear wheels for seamless, smart torque distribution. Beneficial not just in snowy weather but also during spirited driving, the system relies less on braking to maintain maximum performance and efficiency,” Buick said in the posting.

Additionally, TourX will include Buick's new active hood pedestrian safety system. This feature is designed to prevent danger to pedestrians, as the car senses an imminent impact of a pedestrian between 16-30 mph and uses a pyrotechnic actuator to lift the back of the hood up about 4 inches to lessen the impact and potentially reduce injury., the posting said.et.
