GM vehicles win Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awards

Several GM vehicles have been named Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Picks for 2017.

Every year, IIHS tests and ranks vehicles for safety on how well they hold up in crashes, front-crash prevention, roof strength and head restraints.

It has many safety features that help a driver stay safe on the road. The Volt also won a Top Safety Pick award for features such as its roof strength, safety cage and front-crash prevention.

The 2017 Chevrolet Malibu won a Top Safety Pick in the Midsize Car category for its front-crash prevention and low-speed automatic braking capabilities.

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse won a Top Safety Pick award in the Large Car category thanks to its head restraints and the structure of the front and sides of the vehicle.
