The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV will offer a premium audio system designed as a collaborative effort between Fender Musical Instruments Corp. and Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America, Panasonic said in a release.
The Fender Premium Audio System will have nine speakers and amplified power providing 480 watts.
"Our cutting-edge audio lab allows us to provide consumers noticeably superior, authentic sound with uncompromised clarity, regardless of volume," Tom Dunn, director of the Global Audio Solutions Business Unit of Panasonic Automotive Systems, said in a release. "Through an exclusive collaboration, the research and development teams of Panasonic Automotive and Fender worked side-by-side to develop one of the highest performing vehicle sound systems available today."
The system features Panasonic speaker technology that allows drivers and passengers to experience peak audio quality reminiscent of a live performance .
"The all-new 2018 Tiguan is a sophisticated and refined compact SUV, and we wanted a sophisticated audio system to match," Hendrik Muth, senior vice president of product marketing and strategy fpr Volkswagen America, said in the release. "The Fender Premium Audio System gives us the level of power, clarity, and quality that is essential for this vehicle."
The Fender Premium Audio System offers directional sound from front dual-voice coil speakers that have low distortion and smooth mid-range response. Larger front door speakers and a Fender Super Twin SDR woofer add low-end sound for improved audio quality and richness, as does the Fender Bassman Subwoofer included in the package.
