China's GAC Motor offering SUV, sedan in Qatar and Kuwait

China's top automotive manufacturer, GAC Motor, said in a release it has launched new flagship SUV and sedan models in Qatar and Kuwait.

The new GS8 is a seven-seat SUV, while the GA8 is a sedan. GAC is evolving into an international manufacturer and showed off the new vehicles at an event attended by top Chinese government officials and GAC leaders.

"We are very optimistic about GAC Motor's future development in the Qatar market and we are committed to bringing more excellent models to local consumers," a GAC Motor representative said in the release. "2017 marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Qatar, we hope GAC Motor would serve as a link between the two countries and further expand trade cooperation."

Both high-end vehicles feature GAC's second-generation 320T engines. The GS8 body is made of 95 percent high-strength steel to meet the North American SUV standards. Intelligent driving assistance is also standard, including a 360-degree panoramic visual imaging system. The GS8 was initially released last October in China; by April, it was the country's top-selling full-sized SUV.

The GA8 contains the company's best engine, gearbox and chassis, paired with luxury interior design. An air purification filter in the interior helps make for the most environmentally friendly riding experience.
