Steve Landers Auto Group offers tips on readying your ride for summer

Steve Landers Auto Group posted tips on its website for preparing your vehicle for summer.

Winter can take its toll on any type of vehicle, so now is the ideal time to do routine maintenance checks and to help ready the ride for summer road trips.

Check the tires, since winter can be harsh on them. Inspect each tire for general wear and determine if any tire needs air or replacement.

Check all belts, hoses and clamps to ensure they're in good condition as well. If in doubt, allow a service technician to check these for you. For the most part, these items will be inspected during a routine vehicle maintenance checkup as well, the posting said.

Get an oil change. Many drivers forget about the oil since it's out of sight, out of mind.

The air conditioner should also be tested before the weather gets too hot. A quick check-up at a service center can determine if the A/C is in optimal condition.

Clean out your car and put away all the winter gear, such as gloves and the snow brush. Vacuum out the vehicle the next time you take it to the car wash to keep it looking its best.
