Cadillac CTS gaining vehicle-to-vehicle technology

Cadillac has a new V2V safety feature that will come standard on CTS models starting with the mid-2017 models, Hank Graff Family of Dealerships said in a blog post.

Cars equipped with V2V, or vehicle-to-vehicle, can to communicate with each other about possible dangers on the road. Vehicles with V2V will enable alerts to other ones up to 1,000 away, the post said. The blog cited an example using two Cadillac CTS models traveling on the highway. If the one in front encounters slippery conditions, the one behind would receive an alert.

The technology used to send out the alerts in Dedicated Short-Range Communications and GPS, the blog said. It’s possible to customize the alerts so drivers can decide where the alerts will show up.
