New Durango a 'mean' machine, dealer declares

The third-generation Dodge Durango SRT is not your typical mainstream vehicle, but instead is built to "leave the competition in the dust," Utah dealer Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram said on its website recently.

The Durango got new trim for 2018, as evidence at its debut at the Chicago Auto Show. The Sandy, Utah, dealership called it "just as mean as the designers intended," adding: "With larger grille openings, and an intake in the hood to keep the engine cool, its far more aggressive than the mainstream model."

The SRT also features the three-row configuration that makes it a versatile family car, able to take the family on an outing, make a grocery run or carry home flat-pack furniture from the big box store.

The powerful 6.4-liter Hemi V8 makes the SRT the fastest SUV in its class, able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT will be available in mid-2017.
